Rita Coolidge to perform her hit All Time High on '007 in concert'

International star and Grammy Award winner Rita Coolidge will be the special guest of '007 in concert', during which she will perform her hit song 'All Time High' from the classic Bond film Octopussy. Coolidge completes the line-up of '007 in concert'. For this event, popular Flemish pop and rock artists such as The Van Jets, Natalia, Koen Wauters & Eva Jacobs, Jasper Steverlinck, Lady Linn, Sioen, Pieter Embrechts, Noémie Wolfs (Hooverphonic), Barbara Dex, Marie Daulne (Zap Mama), Paul Michiels, Renée, Lola (AKS), August Albert (Kristof of Customs), Glenn Claes and Styrofoam feat. Leki will share their personal interpretation of their favourite James Bond title song.
Delta Lady Rita Coolidge started her career as a backup vocalist for artists such as Ray Charles and Jackie Wilson. She was asked to join the Delaney and Bonnie tour, followed by the Joe Cocker and Leon Russell "Mad Dogs & Englishmen Tour" As a part of this legendary rock 'n roll band, she instantly gained worldwide success and signed a recording contract with A&M Records. She went on to record over 20 albums, three of those with her husband Kris Kristofferson and won two Grammy Awards.
During her career, Coolidge scored several other hits, like 'Superstar', 'We're All Alone', 'Higher & Higher' and 'The Way You Do The Things You Do'. She also collaborated with other artists like Kris Kristofferson, Ray Charles, Eric Clapton, Joe Cocker, Roger Waters and George Harrison among many others.
Coolidge is very popular in the musical world. Stephen Stills wrote the songs 'Cherokee', 'The Raven' and 'Sugar Babe' in her honour. Leon Russell did the same thing with 'Delta Lady', 'A Song For You' and 'Hummingbird'. She also collaborated with some other famous artists like Ray Charles, Eric Clapton and George Harrison. She co-starred with Barbara Streisand in the Academy Award winning 'A Star Is Born'.
On her album And So Is Love, Rita Coolidge reinvented herself as a jazz singer. Her new album, A Rita Coolidge Christmas, is due to be released in Fall 2012 on 429 Records/Universal.
Besides 'All Time High', the following Bond songs will be performed: Live And Let Die, Tomorrow Never Dies, Goldfinger, Thunderball, Surrender, You Only Live Twice, Licence To Kill, Diamonds Are Forever, From Russia With Love, Nobody Does It Better, Die Another Day, All Time High, The Man With the Golden Gun, We Have All The Time In The World, For Your Eyes Only, Goldeneye en Another Way to Die.
All artists will be accompanied by the Academy Award-winning Brussels Philharmonic under the baton of internationally acclaimed conductor Dirk Brossé.
Kobe Ilsen will take care of the presentation.
The concert on 18 October will be recorded and broadcasted on 28 October on the Flemish television channel 'één'.
