Russian Days @ Flagey - ticket give away!
Film concert Artemiev
Besides several film programmes focussing on master directors such as Andrei Zvyaginstev, Dziga Vertov and the brothers Mikhalkov, Flagey presents a prestigious concert with the music by Edward Artemiev. Artemiev, composer for films like 'Solaris', is often associated with his compositions for the movies of Nikita Mikhalkov.
On December 16th, Brussels Philharmonics and Flemish Radio Choir, under the guidance of maestro Dirk Brossé, will perform several highlights from the work of this creative duo. The Russian film maker Mikhalkov was internationally nominated and rewarded multiple times (Grand Jury Prize at the Cannes Film Festival, Academy Award for best foreign language movie…), and most of his soundtracks are composed by Artemiev, one of the Russian pioneers of electronic music. Their faithful collaboration is as strong and successful as other tandems such as Morricone/Leone, Rota/Fellini, Elfmann/Burton, Sardinian/Sautet… On December 16th -with Edward Artemiev attending the concert- scores from ‘Burnt by the Sun’, ‘The Barber of Siberia’, 'The Slave of Love’ and many more can be heard.
The full programme can be found on the website of Flagey.
You can now win a duo-ticket for the concert on December 16th by answering the following question:
Artemiev didi not only write music for the Mikhalkov Brothers films, but also for the famous Andrei Tarkovsky. For how many Tarkovsky-movies did Artemiev write the score and what are the titels of these movies?
You can send your answer before December 7th to info@filmfestival.be
The lucky winner will be notified by e-mail.
