Winner To Be Announced At The World Soundtrack Awards At The Ghent International Film Festival October 23, 2010.

Ten world class composers will be appearing live in concert in Kuipke Ghent, including Gabriel Yared (The Talented Mr. Ripley), Angelo Badalamenti (Twin Peaks), Howard Shore (Lord Of The Rings), Craig Armstrong (Love Actually), Stephen Warbeck (Shakespeare In Love), Gustavo Santaolalla (Motorcycle Diaries), Bruno Coulais (Océans), Frédéric Devreese (Un Soir, Un Train), Alberto Iglesias (Volver) and Elliot Goldenthal (Titus). The anniversary gala will include a six minute suite from each composer performed by the Brussels Philharmonic - the Flemish Radio Orchestra, conducted by Dirk Brossé, and accompanied by a selection of illustrative film excerpts.
How does it work? Go to www.worldsoundtrackacademy.com/voting, look at the list of films and pick your favourite film music. The composer collecting the most votes will receive the Public Choice Award at the World Soundtrack Awards on October 23rd, the official closing event of the Ghent International Film Festival. Voting is possible until September 15th 2010. The voting for the Public Choice Award is supervised by PricewaterhouseCoopers.

In addition to the World Soundtrack Awards the festival presents on October 21st five time Oscar winner, John Barry In Concert. The Brussels Philharmonic - the Orchestra of Flanders, conducted by Nicholas Dodd, will perform suites from his wide ranging body of work, including Goldfinger, Out Of Africa, Dances With Wolves, Born Free and Midnight Cowboy.
