Alex Komlew

Alex Komlew (°1981) is a film composer, music producer and song writer for cinema, TV and interactive media, working in his studios in Munich and Berlin.

He collaborated with award winning directors like Hans Steinbichler (Landauer – A Life in Football), Jan Georg Schütte (Tatort – Das Team), Feo Aladag (Der Andere), Vanessa Jopp (Kolleginnen) and Christian Zübert (The Mopes). He won the golden FIPA in Biarritz and was a two-time nominee for the Crystal Pine Award 2023.

His film projects are streamed / broadcasted by Netflix, Amazon Prime, Disney Plus and all major German broadcasters.

Besides his life action scoring in film genres like drama, thriller, documentary and dramedy he is a highly experienced composer for feature animation films having scored 6 films (all recorded with live orchestra) and two animation series in the last decade with huge audiences arround the globe. As a music producer and songwriter he received three German Gold Awards and one Platinum award to date. Alex studied Popular Music & Media (BA), Music Management (MA), jazz piano (BA) and film scoring (MA) while always refreshing his knowledge and learning from the greats like Alexandre Desplat (Berlinale Score Competition Masterclass 2010), Howard Shore (Berlinale Talent Campus Masterclass 2014) and Conrad Pope (Hollywood Music Workshop 2017).
