“A very talented musician and composer who implicitly understood what was needed for the film” - Jonny Burke (Emmy, Greirson, Banff, BIFA awards)

After a global concert career as a classical violinist, David Chivers made a radical move into rock and electronics in 2020, and started the pop band Aéronèf. Having developed an unusually broad set of skills in genres ranging from the early 17th century, to orchestral and electronic music, he was naturally drawn to writing music to picture and got his first break in 2023, writing the extensive score to “Jon Snow : A Witness to History”, broadcast on Channel 4.

David was principal first violin at the Royal Scottish National Orchestra in 2010, before going on to specialise in early music. He has collected several awards over the years including the International Croydon Competition.

His latest EP Circular Nomads, a cinematic mix of neo-classical vibes and electronica, has already gained critical acclaim.
