Frederik Van de Moortel

Born in Belgium in 1976, Frederik Van de Moortel is a composer and sound designer working in film, theatre, and television. His early interest in music and electronics led to constructing his first electronic studio at twelve.
Since graduating in 1999, Frederik has collaborated with numerous artists across disciplines, refining his approach to storytelling through sound and music. He has contributed to many international films and TV series, showcasing his ability to transcend cultural and linguistic barriers through his art.
Frederik also serves as a lecturer at the Luca School of Fine Arts and the Royal Institute for Theatre, Cinema, and Sound in Brussels, sharing his knowledge with aspiring film students. Operating from his state-of-the-art studio in Boom, Belgium, he produces high-quality audio for every project, balancing artistic integrity with technological advancement.
For nearly 25 years, Frederik's distinctive style, blending traditional and electronic elements, has made him a sought-after composer and sound designer in the international film industry. His dedication and collaborative spirit continue to inspire and elevate the projects he undertakes.
