Mina Samy is an Egyptian composer and music producer based between London and Cairo. His debut feature, Light: The Tale of Daye's Family, was selected as the opening film of the 4th Red Sea Film Festival and for the 2025 Berlinale in the Generation category.

Mina contributed as an additional composer to StudioCanal’s upcoming documentary Becoming Hitchcock: The Legacy of Blackmail, set to premiere on HBO, as well as The Age of Disclosure, an unprecedented documentary premiering at SXSW, collaborating with award-winning composer Blair Mowat.

Starting as a self-taught musician in Egypt, Mina earned a full scholarship to pursue a Master’s in Composition for Screen at the Royal College of Music in London. Graduating at the top of his class, he received the prestigious Joseph Horovitz Prize for outstanding achievement.

Mina is an Academy Gold Fellow through the Jonas Gwangwa Music Composition Initiative and an alumnus of the inaugural Composer Filmmaker Accelerator Program at the Vancouver International Film Festival and the Film Composers Lab with the Royal Scottish National Orchestra. He was also invited to join the THRIVE development program, led by esteemed composer Lorne Balfe.

His work has received widespread recognition, including a Silver Medal for Outstanding Achievement in Composition at the Global Music Awards. Additionally, he ranked among the top five composers in the 2024 Oticons Faculty International Film Music Competition and the Call for Score competition organized by the European Recording Orchestra.
