Mina Samy is a Egyptian composer and music producer based in London, UK. He is recognised for his diverse portfolio spanning various media, including film, television, theatre, exhibitions, and music production for artists and bands. His exceptional musical talent has garnered recognition from global clients such as UNICEF, the WHO, BOSCH, and the governments of Egypt and the United Arab Emirates, who have commissioned his work. Currently, Mina is working on a new short film produced by Academy Award winning UK production house Slick Films.
After starting as a self-taught musician and composer in Egypt, Mina received a full scholarship to study for a master's in Composition For Screen at the esteemed Royal College of Music in London. Having ranked at the pinnacle of his class, his remarkable achievements during the program earned him the prestigious Joseph Horovitz Award.
Among his recent accomplishments, Mina Samy was selected by multi Emmy nominated composer Miriam Cutler and Tony Scudellari Senior Vice President, Television Music, Sony Pictures Television to participate in the Exclusive Composer Filmmaker Accelerator Program at the Vancouver International Film Festival and record a score with the Vancouver Symphony Orchestra. He was also recently selected to join the THRIVE development program initiated by esteemed composer Lorne Balfe.
Mina's compositions have achieved remarkable acclaim, earning him a Silver Medal of Outstanding Achievement in Composition at the prestigious Global Music Awards. Furthermore, his work stood out among many composers earning him a place in the top 5 composers in the Oticons Faculty competition in 2024 as well a top 5 ranking in the Call for Score competition, organized worldwide by the European Recording Orchestra.
