Sofia Roubati
Sofia Roubati is a composer for media and film and a saxophone player.
She splits her time between Athens, London and New York. Sofia released her debut EP ‘ Eternal Passenger’ in 2021.
Currently she is working on various short films in London and NYC. She composed the score for the short-documentary called Reverberations that explores inherited war memories and intergenerational trauma in Beirut and made its debut at the Beirut Women Film Festival in March 2022. She has also composed music for Tedx AU Athens 2020, Hotline a series on Amazon Prime Video and other other projects such as theatrical plays and fashion shows.
Sofia represented Greece as a saxophonist in The Earth Orchestra project where she recorded ‘Together is Beautiful’ by well-known composer George Fenton, at Abbey Road Studios in London. She has a Master’s degree in Music for Film and Media from New York University and is a recipient of the 2020-2021 Alan Menken Scholarship.
Throughout these years Sofia participated in various ensembles as a saxophone player, and performed in major venues across Greece such as National Opera, Theatro Vrachon ‘Melina Merkouri’ and across London such as Kansas Smitty’s.
