Stijn Ylode De Gezelle

Stijn Ylode De Gezelle started composing when he was 13. His main focus was initially on making music for the rock formation Madensuyu, together with Pieterjan Vervondel. They released 5 albums together: Adjust We (2005), A Field Between (2006), D Is Done (2008), Stabat Mater (2013), Current (2018). In 2018, Stijn made the score for Reflector (2018), a one-off performance by Bildraum, and the music for the dance performance Invisible (2018) by Kabinet K. At the instigation of director Christina Vandekerckhove, he started to make the shift to writing for documentaries and films. For example, there are his soundtracks for Christina's documentary Rabot (2018), the short film Mia (2020), the episode "Stella" for the VRT series Lockdown (2021) and her feature debut Milano (2024). For director Nevine Gerits I did the score for the documentary The Pasha, My Mother And I (2023). I am currently studying composition at Kask Ghent.
