The next edition of the Film Music & Sound Seminar will focus on 'British Film Music' and will take place on Thursday 22 October 2015 from 10:00 to 16:00.

Film Fest Gent and Vooruit are working together once again. From 13 to 24 October, we'll be taking you on a journey through events that will expand your musical and cinematic horizons.

Hans Zimmer, Alexandre Desplat, Johann Johannsson, Patrick Doyle and John Legend are some of the popular names among the first nominees released by the World Soundtrack Academy. The first nominees announced will be competing in the categories for Film Composer of the Year, Best Original Score of the Year and Best Original Song Written Directly for a Film. The 15th World Soundtrack Awards will be the closing event of Film Fest Gent on 24 October 2015 in Ghent.

Film Fest Gent will be recording and releasing an album with the scores of Alan Silvestri. The recording started today and will continue on 20 en 21 August at Flagey Studios in Brussels, recorded by Galaxy Studios and conducted by Dirk Brossé and performed by Brussels Philharmonic & Flemish Radio Choir.

Film Fest Gent offers a 10% group discount on the Great British Film Music Concert and the 15th WSA Cermony & Concert.

On Saturday 24 October you will have the opportunity to meet with some important members of the film music industry and performing artists from the World Soundtrack Awards.

All you need to know about the Film Music Industry. Film Fest Gent focuses on elaborating and professionalising its film music industry activities. By organising the WSAwards Industry Day on October 23rd, the festival brings together both young composers, filmmakers and film music industry professionals. They receive the opportunity to learn, debate and network.

Each year Film Fest Gent and the World Soundtrack Academy offer a young international talent a platform as a film music composer. Candidates of the Composition Contest for Young International Film Music Composers can follow in the footsteps of last year’s winner Cyril Molesti and countless other composers who attended previous editions of the festival.

Today the World Soundtrack Academy releases a second wave of nominees for Discovery of the Year, SABAM Award for Best Young International Composer and the Public Choice Award. Earlier last month the WSAcademy already revealed the nominees for Best Composer, Score and Song.
