WSA 2020

Although far apart due to the global COVID pandemic, the online edition of the 2020 World Soundtrack Awards brought film music fans, composers and professionals close together.

Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, this year's WSA is an online edition, streamed live from Ghent. On the occasion of the 20th anniversary, the WSA is proud to virtually welcome back Alexandre Desplat, record holder of the World Soundtrack Film Composer of the Year Award and this year’s guest of honour, Gabriel Yared, who receives a Lifetime Achievement Award, and Michael Abels, Discovery of the Year 2019. Their music, as always performed by the Brussels Philharmonic and Vlaams Radiokoor and conducted by Maestro Dirk Brossé, was pre-recorded in the Brussels Philharmonic's hometown Brussels (Flagey) and is part of the live event and the livestream.
